If you haven’t caught on already, we absolutely L-O-V-E baths. Allowing ourselves to sink into and be held by water with our bath fixings of choice, we’re convinced that taking a bath is one of the best ways to heal any exhaustion, aches, and pains of both skin and soul.
This month is all about celebrating the art of taking a bath, but what if you don’t have a bathtub at home?! In comes the foot soak. Our feet are our primary source of movement; they take us from one place to another, they wear our dancing shoes so we can get our groove on, and they’re how we connect with the Earth and get grounded.
Dominican priest and saint Thomas Aquinas once said, “sorrow can be alleviated by good sleep, a bath and a glass of wine.” We couldn’t agree more, which is why we reached out to our friends Joni and Jennelle of Mint and Mirth, the world’s best traveling bartenders, to do a bath time+cocktail collaboration during our BEING Bath Month.
Part of the beauty of taking a bath is the ritual of creating the space for yourself to relax and unwind. How you create an external sacred bath space sets the foundation for you to tap into your internal sacred space to provide yourself with nourishment that goes beyond the surface and seeps into the soul.
