The Spring Equinox was this past weekend and we couldn’t be more ready to shed the past and make room for new life to flourish and thrive. Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation, when what has been dormant and resting during the winter months begins the process of coming to life once more. When in alignment with nature’s cycles in this time of transition, we start to move from the more introspective, introverted energy and way of being to a more outward, extroverted energy and way of engaging with the world. It is the time when we water the seeds we have planted with love, time, and care so we may begin the season in full bloom.
To aid in this process of letting go and starting anew, we created a simple, refreshing, energizing body scrub with all-natural ingredients, most of which you can find at home. Instead of making the recipe too complex, we wanted to keep it simple because in our busy bee, overworked and over-stimulating society, sometimes we need to dial it back down to basics.
What you’ll need:
1 cup coarse sea salt
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
Rosemary essential oil (4 drops to start)*
Lemon essential oil (3 drops to start)
Any other essential oils of your preference
10oz glass container
*Avoid in epilepsy, hypertension and while pregnant. Avoid with homeopathics.
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add additional essential oils and/or substitute ingredients as you’d like to fit your preferences (see substitution suggestions below). Once mixed, store in a glass container with a tight lid.
Give yourself ample time in the shower or bathtub to apply the finished scrub all over your body to allow the ingredients to thoroughly scrub away the old. Olive oil is highly moisturizing and anti-aging, and when combined with the powerful antioxidant properties of rosemary essential oil and the cleansing properties of lemon essential oil, skin + soul are left feeling silky smooth and renewed.

*Rosemary essential oil: any of the following essential oils - ylang ylang, lavender, tea tree, orange, geranium
