Some of the benefits of taking baths with salts for skin are:

  • Easing headaches

  • Soothing skin conditions such as eczema

And when our bodies feel good, that clears the air for the mind and spirit to feel good, too.

We created a refreshing, simple DIY bath salt recipe that you can make in the comfort of your own home: the Summer Citrus Clarifier.

salts and oils for diy bath salts
If you want to get creative and create your own bath salt recipe, here’s what we recommend starting with as the base of your bath salt:

  • 2 cups Epsom salt - Epsom salt isn’t actually a salt, but it’s the mineral magnesium sulfate, which is an essential part of bone structure, blood pressure regulation and disease prevention
  • 1/2 cup baking soda - this ingredient commonly found in baked goods is also a wonderful skin softener as well as a water conditioner
  • 20 drops essential oils of choice - pick the scents that will transport you wherever it is your heart longs to go with their aromatherapeutic properties
Below is the recipe we created to indulge in a spring/summer bath ritual soak. You’ll also need a container that will hold 3-4 cups of bath salt goodness. We just used a couple of wide mouth ball jars and the soaks fit in them perfectly.
